Cashier/Convenience Store - Travel Plaza - Tama, IA


  • Use equipment and systems as supplied by the Trading Post, serve as cashier for the sale of fuel, gifts, tobacco products, deli items, groceries, and other products as provided by the Trading Post. Involved in the “scanning” of items using electronic equipment as well as some manual inputting of prices.
  • Responsible for the financial activities of his/her shift and register assignment including the completion, filing, and balancing of cash/credit/charge transactions as well as shift reporting.
  • Assist in the cleaning of various areas of the Trading Post including shelves, product, floors, bathrooms, garbage, windows, exterior areas, etc.
  • Assist in the display of product including “pulling” stock, adding to stock in coolers and on shelves, counter, and floor displays, etc.
  • Assist in the stocking of product in various areas of the Trading Post.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Assistant Manager, or Floor Managers of the Trading Post.


  • High school diploma or GED with equivalent work experience.
  • Prefer work experience in the service or retail industry related to customer service and money handling.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers to process transactions, answer questions, greet customer, and perform other work-related activities with courtesy and tact.
  • Must be available to work any shift when needed.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete background check.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Cook - Travel Plaza - Tama, IA


  • Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems.
  • Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards.
  • Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item.
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
  • Correctly prepares all food served following approved recipes.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
  • Completes food temperature checks before service.
  • Ensures that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Follow all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

Project Specialist/Administrative Assistant

Provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support to others in the office to maintain an efficient office environment. Must have knowledge in confidentiality, be trustworthy, reliable, and dependable. Positive attitude with the will to improve. Have an enthusiastic and driven personality, strong organizational skills, openness to feedback.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AA or BS preferred


  • 2 years of previous office experience or other relevant administrative support experience
  • competent computer skills including MS Office or equivalent
  • internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and data collection
  • numeracy and literacy skills


  • Previous Large Commercial Business or Federal Government Preferred
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Federal Contracting, and the Small Business Administration Preferred
  • In depth understand of MS Office or equivalent
  • Knowledge of federal government focused business intelligence tools such as Bloomberg, Govtribe, and GovWin Preferred
